Hawthorne Direct Welcomed Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and Lt. Governor Kim Reynold on August 28th

Fairfield, Iowa, Sept. 2, 2014 -- Hawthorne Direct, a full service Brand Response ad agency, played host to Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds on August 28th. Fifty people attended the event, which took place between 8:15 – 9:15 AM. Hawthorne Direct is located at 300 N. 16th Street, Fairfield, Iowa, 52556.

The visit was a result of the Governor’s Office having contacted Hawthorne Direct to arrange a special meeting as part of the Governor’s on-going, state-wide, 99-county, outreach tour. The Governor is seeking to learn more about a variety of state operated businesses, thank those companies for doing business in Iowa, and identify any barriers those companies may be facing while doing business in Iowa.

Hawthorne Direct executives Karla Crawford-Kerr, Director of Business Development & Corporate Relations, and Tammy Shull, Executive Director, Administration and Human Resources, toured Branstad and Reynolds through the agency’s studio and creative capabilities. Hawthorne Direct highlighted to the Governor the impact and the role that the arts can play in regard to the state’s economic development. Following the Hawthorne tour, Cindy Woodbury, Executive Director of the Fairfield Art Walk, and Rustin Lippincott, Executive Director of the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center, also made presentations. Woodbury and Lippincott  described the contributions of their organizations to the local economy, and discussed with the governor the ways in which the State of Iowa can better support these artistic efforts. Regarding the special event, Hawthorne-Castro said, “Our agency is a very active supporter of Fairfield’s Art Walk.
