Quigley-Simpson Appoints Andrew McLean as Chief Development Officer
LOS ANGELES – Andrew McLean has joined Quigley-Simpson as its new Chief Development Officer. Working out of Quigley-Simpson’s New York office, McLean will oversee new business, marketing, growth and development for the Los Angeles and New York-based agency, which has annual billings of $500 million, a staff of more than 150 employees and a significant roster of industry-leading clients.
“With our expertise in performance-driven media and our burgeoning digital marketing practice, we sought an experienced executive who could lead development during this exciting growth phase of the agency,” said Gerald Bagg, Quigley-Simpson co-chairman. “Andrew has a proven track record of success leading growth initiatives at top agencies and we’re excited to have him on our team.”
McLean has more than 25 years of advertising and media experience working with some of the world’s leading agencies and brands. Most recently he was Chief Executive Officer of independent agency Mercury Media, which focused on performance media. McLean brings more than 14 years of experience from Omnicom’s PHD, WPP’s MEC and GroupM, where he held a number of growth and leadership roles. Prior to that, he was on the client side managing advertising and media for The Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group.

Born in Britain, McLean came to the U.S. in 1999 to join the Young & Rubicam Group, and was part of the team that built what became the successful and widely recognized operation, Media Edge. After WPP acquired Young & Rubicam Group, Media Edge combined with Mindshare and became GroupM, and McLean worked at GroupM to grow business and profits through the leveraging of the advertising assets, investments in tools and the consolidation of buying. He was the lead new business generator and brought together clients to expand digital, television, research and client management offerings, forging high level relationships with global clients like Citibank, Chanel, DHL, Macys, AT&T, and Sony Ericsson.
He began his career in publishing before entering the advertising business as a television buyer in the U.K., quickly rising to a senior position at D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, where he oversaw top accounts including Procter & Gamble, Twentieth Century Fox and Burger King.
McLean has served on the board of the 4As and as the Chairman of the New York Chapter of the International Advertising Association. He is heavily involved with the University of Georgia’s Grady College and teaches media studies as a guest lecturer.
