Membership Costs & Payment Categories

ERA members pay dues based on their company's annual revenues derived from direct response, allowing all potential member companies the opportunity to join at a level that fits their budget. Please note that membership begins one year from the approval date. Please Note: Subsidiaries wholly owned by a parent organization that join under the parent's name pay dues according to the parent company's revenues. Membership dues are not tax deductible for U.S. federal income tax purposes. Dues may be deducted as ordinary and necessary business expenses under Section 162 of the Internal Revenue Code. However, five percent of funds are lobbying efforts expenditures and are not tax deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense.

Members agree to abide by the association’s bylaws, code of ethics and self-certification program. Failure to comply with the aforementioned may result in immediate and automatic termination of ERA membership by the Board of Directors. Additionally, members agree to abide by the Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program (ERSP). Failure to comply with ERSP will result in immediate and automatic termination of ERA membership without consideration by the Board of Directors. Please note: your dues are not refundable upon termination. As a new (or renewed) member you will receive Electronic Retailer magazine and properties thereof as a membership benefit.
